No one can own Vegan Japan

Recently in Japan, we have had a problem with a non-resident foreigner who believes he owns the global rights to any terms such as;

• Vegan Japan
• veganjapan
• Japan Vegan

and so on, despite owning no such legal property.

This individual has been using volunteers to run a business in Japan illegally. On being exposed, he has engaged in a 'poison pen' campaign and what can only be described as stalker activities, e.g. abusive emails, repeated telephone calls at 3 am and countless threats.

His aim has been to cause as much damage as possible to the Vegan Society of Japan NPO startup, describing vegan societies as "parasites" and targeting women victims.

If you are the recipient of such emails, please contact us for clarification.

It is doubtful that such a term could be trademarked and legal steps have been taken to ensure that it cannot happen in Japan.
